Good solid hoist.
Seems solidly built. However it's lighter than expected. It's lighter than an old 1/2 ton hoist I have, but rated for much more weight.The lift hook on this 4000lb unit has a pulley doubling the lifting force. However that means twice as much chain needs to move to lift an object, so it's a bit slow. But for my applications it works fine.One Con: When I first set up the unit it was really cold out, and I noticed the unit freewheeled down when I put weight on the hook. I had to work the hand chain back and forth for a minute or two to get the brake to grab. After that it's been fine.

I like it, its definitely quality item, One star deduction is for chain is already rusting, really!!!! 10 months of indoor use and rust !!!! don't like that, for money i spent on t it should me rust proofed somehow.

Quality American Product
Who else is tired of cheap foreign products arriving at their door? Well, this certainly isn't one of them. You can tell the minute you take it out of the package that's it's a quality product. I used it to lower concrete beams on a project that frankly the products on the other side of the pacific scared the hell out of me thinking about the possibility of failure. This product has been tested to 125% of working capacity...I doubt the competition did anything but box and sell.I couldn't be happier or feel more secure.

Excellent Quality Chain Hoist. This one is worth the money!!!
This is one bad-to-the-bone chainfall... Period. The chains feed through tapered guides, and this guy just does NOT bind. I'm really pleased with this purchase. It forgives your momentary lack of attention when you pay too much attention to the load, and not enough to the lift angles. This is exactly what the doctor ordered for my shop. GREAT purchase..! Price is a little high, but in this case, you get what you pay for. I highly recommend this..;~)
