Great for travel!!
I got this for a two week trip to the UK & France. It worked great! I coupled it with Airalo eSims and it provided great internet for the vast majority of our trip. The few times it didn’t work we were remote and I wouldn’t have expected to have access to the internet. The only note of caution I would add is that it doesn’t hold a charge for very long, IMO. I left it on most days, for access to maps and so my family could get ahold of me when they needed to. The time difference made that difficult! Anyway, if I left it on all day, it needed another complete charge by midafternoon. I brought a battery charger and it was no problem, but something to know in advance! Overall, I highly recommend this product!

Well, but
It is good device with big battery capacity (more then 8 hours), but it's hard to find e-sim for this device. In my case, working e-sim (Czechia) is Holafly and EasySim. Other e-sims are imposible save to device or without mobile signal.

Works pretty well once you figure it out
Only use eSims from the providers listed above, as others like Nomad will not work. I used Ubigi and had to request their customer service to email me the CR Code picture for my account that I scan with the eSim manager app to transfer to the device... Most eSim providers activate through their own phone app, but that would not work here.Once everything is activated, you might still find yourself without IP connectivity!Once you know its actually simple: connect a device to the eSunFi Wifi, go to a browser and input http://192.168.0.1 (NOT http://192.168.1.1 as indiacted on the label), use admin/admin for creds and you will see a setup sequence with a big Activate button that you need to press... Then it should work!Sunhans website, the manufacturer, has a page for this device called SHFiEL40 when you can download a User manual where this is more or less explained...

Won't turn on!
Took this esim wifi pocket router on a trip one day after the return window expired and when I got to Japan that day it would not turn on. Not in China and in Hong Kong. So I was forced to rent a pocket wifi throughout my trip and I was not able to use the esims that I had purchased. Contacted Amazon support on my return and they gave me an exemption for a return and a refund. Thank you Amazon.

Low battery Life, loses e-sim information
Used it for 3 months while in Italy. Setup was confusing because written instructions are incomplete, and sometimes wrong. Password is not on the box but displayed on the front screen. Text communication with tech support was good. Battery only lasts about 4 hrs. It also kept losing the e-sim information. Had to reconnect with esim manager to get esim restored. I figured this out only through trial and error. This is not explained anywhere. It also gets very hot.

Works great. Has physical and esim capabilities
It works great. It does take a bit to set it up properly and the instructions are not the greatest even for a tech person. The app and UI isn't the greatest. You also have to go into its web admin portal to configure appropriate APN's and roaming settings. They do have whatsapp support and are responsive though.Once you get it working, its great. Used it all over the east coast of US on our camping trips and drives North to south across many states and highways and works great as expected. Have tried T-Mobile, Monty Sim, Airalo. I am sure it is compatible with many many more.

No frills, low budget personal hotspot
Good budget option. The setup is a little confusing, but not too difficult. Just ignore the instructions and go on instinct. It only took about 2 minutes to set it up. I added a global esim from airalo. Initially, it failed to connect, but I removed the device from the esim manager, re-added it, and it worked. I haven't found a way to change the passcode.

Works in some countries
I bought eSIM cards from Airalo for USA (just to test that the box works), Germany, Spain. In the USA - everything worked, not much configuration required. In Germany it connected to the network after some time but kept losing connection and switching to “No service” mode. I found deep down in the settings menu (which you can reach through 192.168.0.1 when you have a wifi connection with the box) the switch between Auto and Manual choice of the network operator and set it manually to the only operator (E plus) which supported the eSIM I installed. Then it worked ok.Finally, I arrived to Barcelona and installed and activated the Guay Mobile eSIM card bought at Airalo. Whatever I did, whichever settings I tried to adjust, the box just couldn’t see any of the network operators.I’m in the area with strong signals of Vodafone ES, Orange, Movistar. eSunFi just doesn’t see any of them, reports “no networks”. Don’t know if something’s wrong with my particular unit or it’s a general fault. In the end I bought a normal SIM card which for mere €10 gave me 50Gb + 300 minutes + unlimited sms and a local phone number. Must admit I was really enthusiastic about the product (my old Android phone doesn’t support eSIMs), now I’m very disappointed.
