At the very least you gain a slow feeding plate
Took my dog a day to figure out, but now that she knows how boy does it serve its purpose as a slow feeder. What used to take her 1min to do, now takes her almost 10min. She was one of those dogs who ate like she had never been fed before and always had gas problems because of it. That's all in the past now! It worked for us, but I'd like to see bigger sturdier versions of this in the future, because I cant imagine this working out for dogs over 50lbs. In the end you have nothing to lose; at the very least you gain a slow feeding plate.

NO MORE “CATITUDE”!
First of all, the seller included an extra screw for assembling the wheel and an extra height-adjustment screw—probably in response to buyer feedback.I had to laugh when my scarf-and-barf cat first saw her feeder. I spun the food wheel several times to show her how to get her kibble to fall out. She looked at me as if I had lost my mind. Even as hungry as she was (she’s always hungry!), she walked away and refused to eat. After awhile I took the wheel off and shook all the kibble out into the maze-like tray. I showed her how to dig the kibble out, and she did eat. That was about 4 days ago. She now eats out of the tray with no more “catitude”—still without the wheel. Someday I might try the wheel again . . . . BTW, I put the tray on a mat, so there’s no mess. Also, my cat is declawed; has fairly large paws (She’s a Bengal/tiger mix.); and no longer scarfs and barfs. I like the feeder, but I might have been just as well off to buy just a maze tray without the wheel.

Off to a good start with the pup - and good customer service!
I have been looking for a few food puzzles because I intend to always have my new rescue pup be learning and working for his food. We have tried a couple puzzles, and it ususally takes him 3 or 4 meals to really catch on and get good at one. This feeder seems promising - it was easy for me to assemble, wash, dry, and fill with kibble. The pup caught on to nosing the pieces out of the bottom "maze" and walking from one side to the other when he could not reach them, but I had to show him about turning the tube to make the kibbles drop. However, after that first meal, I placed the unit on the kitchen counter and accidentally knocked it off onto the floor -- the grey screws that hold the tube in place both broke off. It did come with a replacement screw, but I needed two. When I contacted the seller to see if I could get another replacement screw, they promptly replied that they don't have extra replacement screws in stock but offered to send a whole new unit if I would write a review. I think that's more than fair! When I receive the new one, I'll be more careful not to drop it. I look forward to my pup learning from this feeder!

All hard plastic pieces. Works well.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. 11 week old puppy figured it out fairly quickly. Keeps her from eating an entire bowl of food in one sitting.

Ancaixin Dog Feeder
Our 45 lb medium sized rescue mix has always taken her meal from a food/treat dispenser so she's very comfortable with the idea of working for her food. We've probably purchased over 20 different food dispensers over the 5 years we've had her so we're always on the lookout for a different or better one. This Ancaixin Dog Feeder is actually a great feeder. We absolutely love that they included the Slow Feeding Plate to catch the kibble that falls out of the Dispensing Wheel, another effective step in slowing down her feeding. If this were bigger, higher and heavier we'd give it 5 stars for sure. As of right now our dog is smaller than the golden retriever pictured but unless you're spinning the wheel and she's just eating what comes out there is no way she would take her meal laying down like that. For her to use this toy she is up and pawing and nosing and jolting and pushing this thing all around the kitchen floor (we tried this on carpet and it moves around even more so).Improvement suggestions:Heavier base, less movementHigher adjustable heightSlider across the holes to accommodate various size treat/kibbleEasier way to load foodWe purchased a cheap thin flexible plastic cutting mat from nearby Dollar Store and cut a rectangular piece out that would fit through the opening of the feeder. We inserted that into the Dispenser Wheel to try to slow down her feeding. With the Dispenser Wheel completely full of kibble and the added plastic barrier she's still able to finish in approx 30 min.Overall, it's still a great food dispenser. It definitely helps to slow down her feeding so she can enjoy eating (her favorite past time) longer.

Intelligence builder and keeps dog busy for awhile. Slows down a dog that eats too fast.
Our dog is young, energetic, and gets bored easily. He loves this toy! It keeps him occupied for quite awhike, and since we took it with his dog food, it is easy to adjust his regular feedings accordingly. It took him a couple days to figure out how to spin it with his nose to get the food out, but it is an intelligence builder, and he got the idea after awhile. Although he now has figured out how to get the food out, it still takes him awhile to kick the small pieces out of the maze at the bottom. This toy builds problem solving, can keep the dog busy for awhile, can be used to feed healthy food, and can be used to slow down a dog that gulps its food. It is also great to positively distract a dog while he is being left alone, and he learns to equate being left with a positive game and food. We use it every evening to slow our bundle of energy down to get him ready for a quiet evening and eventually going to bed all night. He looks forward to it, and it helps settle him down every time.
