Good quality tips
Like 95% of a good soldering iron is about quality tips. Cheapo ones oxidize fast and render the iron useless. Thankfully this iron comes with a bunch of tips and the quality (at least on the one I used) is great. It transfers heat well and melts the solder easily. That's all I pretty much wanted from a handy portable soldering kit.The other accessories included are good for a kit like this, but if you're soldering full time then you should get more quality products. For a travel kit like this for occasional use, these tools will work fine. I was pleased to see that the solder sucker is built well compared to the other ones i've owned in the past.Overall it works well. In the end the most important part is the iron and it comes with good quality tips, so I'm happy

Great price for most incluse soldering kit!
Was looking for a soldering set rather than buying everything individual and this was the most inclusive one I found, for decent price. Quality is very good for the price also. If you are Careful Tech person, you can make this last for many years. I have used it for small electronic repair projects and it works just fine. Iron heats readily as per the dial control and tip 'Tins' easily in prepping for soldering. Tips are easily changed for different applications. De-soldering tool works great even though it is on the 'less expensive' side. Once again, if you are a brut or not careful and dropping stuff all the time, of course they won't last. That's with anything, right?

It does the job well!
I've never done much soldering, but I know how and had need of doing a little recently. As I've not owned a soldering iron in years, I decided to get this relatively inexpensive model. It is more than capable of taking care of the small jobs I have! I really like that it came with everything I'd need, including instructions on how to solder - I had forgotten about tinning the tip. At any rate, I got my soldering done with this, and have plenty of solder left. Maybe I'll find more things that are easier to repair with solder than other ways! Maybe I'll finally do that DS hack that takes some soldering... who knows!

Excellent Deal for onetime projects.
This iron did the job I needed to repair some eyeglasses and extend some doorbell wires. Which I did outside in 30 degrees Fahrenheit. I was not sure the iron would get hot enough to do it but it did. So if you are doing a one time type of project this is great fot it's price. Plus the kit came with everything I needed so I didn't even have to buy solder. The stand it extremely lightweight and cheap. But again I may not use this again for years so this was the best deal I could find.

Handy Little Inexpensive Soldering Kit
For the price of an average soldering iron, this kit gives you what you need for quite a few projects. The iron and the tips are great, the other stuff sorta cheap plastic stuff but nothing bad. The iron heated up quickly and the temp adjustment is a nice feature. The little stand that keeps the hot tip up is the usual too-small little thing I've seen for years. But I won't take a star away for that since the iron itself is great.

Great kit for home or hobby
The kit is very complete. It includes several soldering tips for different needs or situations. It's intended for electronics use, but could be used for woodburning as well with the variable temperature control and asserted tips. The ESD wristband is a bonus most solder kits don't include. My only negative is the case itself is very generic and could be compartmentalized so the items don't just rattle around inside. Great value, nice tools for household and hobbies. It may not be good enough for every day or commercial use.

Temperature Controlled
Bought it for my dad to work on the rice cooker circuit board, his old Craftsman solder iron is only 30 watts, which doesn't generate enough heat to melt the solder joints on double sided board. With the temperature adjustable knob, it's very easy to control heat to prevent cold and overheated joints. The knob might be a bit small for you to adjust if you have big hands. I got this brand because it also comes with an ESD wrist strap, well considered. My dad likes it so far.

poor quality and dangerous
the iron is low quality and the temperature control is faulty on my unit as the iron will not even turn on until I turn the dial to 350 degrees. it is made of cheap plastic that smells when being used I would not recommend this iron and would not advise leaving it unattended.
