Famous lighter made by a legendary Austrian company Imco(based out of Japan since 2013), whose production began early last century. Easy to use, highly reliable and durable, these things ensured that this model is popular all over the world. Thanks to the simplicity of its design, this model is very reliable and robust. The model works equally well with any quality of lighter fluids. Lighter is sold non-filled. This is a new lighter "Imco" from a new manufacturer in Japan, which bought the rights to manufacture of lighters in Austria in 2013.

Just OK...
This lighter was shipped from the Ukraine. From the first fueling, it was a pain to light, taking several flicks. It was a good strong spark, but it seemed like the wick was having problems no matter how much I trimmed & fiddled with it. I pulled the wadding & replaced the wick with a Zippo wick. That cured the problem. Not as wind-proof as a Zippo, but holds the fuel a bit longer. I have so far used Rosonol lighter fluid, camping stove fuel, naphtha & avgas for fueling fluid with no problems. Lighter is of fair quality. Uses standard flints.

Subpar.
Subpar product here. I actually bought this lighter, and another repro that wasn't Prime eligible, so I can give a good side-by-side. The other is here: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CCOYS2C/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1Initially, this lighter seemed to have a better "feel". It was heavier, had a higher polish on it, and the "IMCO" logo info looked more authentic. But - it was never a first strike lighter, even when full of fluid. After about 3 weeks of use (second filling), it started not wanting to light at all. I might need to pull out more wick, but instead of futzing with it, I'll probably buy another of the non Prime-eligible versions. I think the flint/striker assembly just isn't up to snuff.Pros: Prime eligible, shiny, flint access screws shut instead of flipping open, ???Cons: Doesn't actually work well.

Very nice lighter.
Very nice lighter..... I have to give 5 stars because it was exactly what I expected..... As for the lighter, I fully understand that it isn't made in Austria as IMCO is out of business, the advertisement says Japan bought the patent rights and yes Japan in the last 40 years makes excellent quality things, but I have my doubts that this was ever made in Japan. The Lighter has Vienna Austria printed on it... , No Japanese man would ever print that, they have pride in their work and they know Americans think as highly of Japanese Engineering as we do of British Mechanical Ingenuity, German Machining, or Austrian Quality..... no this is probably made in China, but China is starting to make some good things, and this lighter is well made. Tolerances are tight, parts work well together and chrome Finnish is even good.it has a feel to it that you like. similar to a Zippo where you flip it open or flick it and the action feels right and it's a good mechanical action. If you ever get your hands on a fake Zippo you can actually feel the difference between that and the real one. I am sorry:) I don't have an original IMCO, so I am only assuming this action is similar to the original because this lighter has a good action which I like.On lighting.... this lighter has only one disadvantage compared to zippo. You have to nail it or flick it... On a zippo you barely have to roll the flint, but on this lighter you need to give the button/lever a good flick and it will light every time. The Action is designed for a flick, not a slow push down. I don't think this IMCO lighter loses fluid to evaporation as fast as my zippo which is a plus.Easy to fill with lighter fluid, flints replace just like a zippo. The flint roller on a zippo is as simple as you can design one, but this IMCO has slightly more to it, yet it's design simple enough to be fail proof also. One point I'd like to add..... Fluid lighters like this or Zippos will light when it is cold..... butane lighters don't work in negative Fahrenheit temperatures.... Trust me or research it.... You can't leave a butane lighter in your shop or in your pickup and expect it to light, same as camping in the snow.... Butane has a chemical point where it stays fluid and doesn't produce gas....But you can leave naphtha/lighter fluid or even gasoline & this lighter in the shop and go out on negative 20 F temp days and light the fireplace. That's why I keep an old school lighter, the only thing that is better is one of those little propane torches, but they are $100.
