Beautiful option for us lefties!
I have been looking for a decently priced quality made left-handed classical guitar for a number of years now on came across ortega.. after doing a lot of research on their products I decided to jump into this and I'm definitely not regretting it! This guitar is absolutely beautiful, while I would probably rather have had a nice glossy coat to bring out the beautiful grain in the woods that is used, the Satin finish is nonetheless very beautiful. While this may be a laminate Top guitar it sounds very full with nice bass and treble response, it is quite loud and the harmonics jump right out of the sound box. I did have to do a little bit of to the neck and will probably replace the nut and Bridge with something of higher quality.. the action was a bit High but I was able to get that fairly adjusted with the truss rod... overall it is still very playable and I cannot keep my hands off of it. The case that comes with it is astounding for the price, is the nicest soft case I believe I've ever owned and has a nice firmness to it, thickly padded and sturdy. If you're a lefty and looking for a good mid to low priced classical guitar to learn or bang around with, this is definitely the right place to look! The craftsmanship of this guitar regardless of its Chinese origin is quite honestly very impeccable, not a spot or blemish on it, the Frets are very smooth and done very well.. no sharp edges.. it's honestly hard to imagine when holding this that it is a lower end Chinese production guitar.. I would have thought this thing was twice the price if I seen it hanging on a Shelf in a music store with no price tag.

Nice 3/4 size classical guitar
I purchased this to use mainly as a travel guitar. It is a well constructed guitar and has a decent sound. The saddle was a little high so I sanded it down a bit and I plan to try a set of D'Addario Pro Arte Normal strings on it. Nice gig bag, too.

Very nice, for the price
A well-made, sweet sounding, yet inexpensive classical guitar.Purchased for experimenting with alternate tunings, and it isperfect for my application. The case is just a "gig bag", but sturdier than many, and was a nice touch.

Quality build at a great budget
There aren't very many left handed choices available for cheap. This guitar not only has a quality build for it's price, it also came with its own case as a bundle. The case is black and has thick spongy walls, great for you if you're heavy handed or careless with your instruments, and great for anyone else as well. It has a couple pockets and the design is very tight, as opposed to loose. The guitar itself has a very vibrant color both in looks and sound. The make is understandingly entrance level. There is nothing wrong with the make, but for 150-300$, it is adequate and sounds beautiful! Definitely recommend.NOTE: I am giving 4 stars because the customer service was not very good. The people on the phone kept giving me the run around after my guitar was lost in the mail. I eventually had to forcefully ask to speak to the manager who finally fixed my issue. Not very happy with that, even after a year, as I remember the damn headache they gave me.

Lovely Well Built Classical Guitar for Child to Learn On
The Ortega R12-3/4 was purchased for my 9 year old to learn classical guitar after buying a cheaper guitar that looked great but could not hold a tune. The Ortega guitar which is designed in Germany and made in China, is a very well built instrument and the finish is top notch. The red of the guitar we purchased is a very beautiful shade like red wine and the rest of the body has a very rich dark red mahogany look to it. The tuning hardware is very good as it seems to hold a tune. The sound is not as tinny as some of the cheaper learning guitars you find in the store. I would say it has a very warm resonant sound, especially with the classical guitar design and the nylon strings. The guitar comes with a very nice padded gig bag which is a big plus. For the relatively high value and quality of the build I don't see how one can't like this guitar a lot. My daughter most importantly loves it. The only complaint (preventing five stars) is that there were no extra strings, no guitar strap and no hardware/peg on the body to connect a strap. I assume all of those can be bought and added separately and relatively cheaply. I think with some high quality strings this is as good as some of the $400+ guitars. The vendor World Instruments was very responsive and delivered on time. I definitely would buy Ortega products again and from the same vendor in the future.

Good 3/4 for the price
I like this 3/4 guitar. Quality appears to be good. The sustain is good on it. No fret buzz on mine. Currently running the provided strings. And I do love the cedar top on it. All laminated which is fine because it is pretty arid in my state and things do dry out. No complaints.

Classical 3/4 size Ortega
I have two other 3/4 size guitars, Yamaha acoustic and acoustic electric: I figured this instrument would be approximately the same size. The body is larger however the nut is 45 mm which is no wider than my Yamaha 3/4s, it just appeared wider. It has a truss rod but I'm not sure I'd ever think of doing steel strings; the fret wires have a color of brass or bronze and if so would quickly wear if not a harder metal. It is very well built, attractive wood selection. I checked around the sound hole, the old spit test, and I don't see any laminations; I think it's solid spruce. Apologies for my previous review.

Perfect starting guitar
I bought this for my son. It was recommended by his guitar teacher. He really enjoys playing it in the nylon strings are great for his young fingers. It took a little while to keep it in tune but now that it has been played for a little while it is staying in tune really well.
