Disappointing, twice
This is my second order of this coffee. It is okay, drinkable and certainly much better than coffee-in-a-can. But I have had two disappointments so far. The first bag was under-roasted, dry, and under-flavorful. This batch is over-roasted and under-flavorful. That is, it has a strong taste but it is not predominantly a coffee taste. This gets good reviews, and it would be a great value if it were a super coffee. I wonder if I am experiencing unusual variability. It's not an expensive bag of coffee, but not a cup of coffee that I look forward to enjoying in the morning. I am a penny-pincher, but good coffee makes a difference in the way I start my day. I will probably grind this for work, and order something different for home.

Delicious, fresh, roasted well
Sumatra is my favorite coffee, and this one does not disappoint. It looks to be vacuum sealed, so it was very fresh when I opened it this morning. The beans have a nice sheer, glisten to it from the oils. Despite it being a dark roast, you can definitely taste the earthiness that is more typical of Sumatra. The beans are also nice and evenly sized, which will help me get more even grounds. These days I usually drink my coffee via pour over. I personally like strong, black coffee so I use about 2 tbsp whole beans to 12oz water. I have a burr grinder set to medium. It's strong but not that bitter, and it smells amazing. Next I'll try making cold brew with it to see how it comes out.

Delicious!
I miss Le Bernardin, I miss going out to fine dining establishments, I miss having Eric Ripert's genius chef mind responsible for my food. No longer, with Stone Street Coffee I can have just a little bit of that gourmet glamour back. The flavor choices are tantalizing and I have many more to try which gives me something to look forward to. I enjoy the rich luxury of a hot cup of coffee each morning before I commute the ten feet to my home workstation. It gives me a special start to the day which is especially helpful right now. I will be purchasing and drinking Stone Street Coffee for a long time to come!

Good coffee but not freshest
This coffee was probably amazing back when it was packaged. It's still plenty drinkable, but definitely not fresh. I keep buying it here anyways since it's been hard to find coffee from this region of Sumatra since the pandemic started.Sumatra Gayo is very mild and flat tasting normally, so the lack of freshness isn't as big a problem. It's extremely low acidity so it won't eat a hole in your stomach if you drink an absurd amount of coffee like I do. Much milder than the Sumatra Mandheling that's typically sold as just "Sumatra".

It was just OK
Was looking for a more darker flavor . To my taste buds this is a medium dark roast. not bad but won't be buying again Packaging did have gas valve built in, no roast date just an expiration date of a year from now. I don't keep coffee that long. That's the reason I buy in small quantities. To be consumed asap to retian the freshness of the beans

for at least 2 years I have tried to find another really good organic Sumatran and finally
I used Green Mountain organic Sumatran coffee for years (whole bean) then they changed something and it tasted bitter and burnt. So, for at least 2 years I have tried to find another really good organic Sumatran and finally, I think I scored. I just made my first pot of this this morning and I'm delighted. I was a little concerned it was a dark roast but it is delicious, no burnt taste and no bitterness. It tastes like I remember Sumatran tasting!

First time trying the "Gayo Mountain" Sumatra - Loved It!
I've got a passion for dark roast coffee, and use this one with drip and a coffee press. It's fresh and smells wonderful before and after brewing. A little cream, a little raw sugar: it makes a great dessert coffee as well. This is the two pound bag. The only thing I'd like to see improved would be to ship it in a RESEALABLE two pound bag, to preserve the oils and flavor (not that they suffered!).The last cup was just as good as the first.

Fantastic!!
Great coffee with taste, aroma of a more expensive brand and simply just tastes better! I use this and the Mandhendling type which is also from Sumatra and is my only coffee's I drink now! I buy whole beans and get fresh ground beans smell through my apartment and the tastes, smells and mouth feel are exquisite. Stone street is my only coffee shop now!
