Ethical Skinneeez Forest Friends Wand Cat Toy

My cats ADORE these. I have no idea why but I suspect it’s because the animals are soft. We have 2 cats and they both love these. Unfortunately the elastic on the string doesn’t last too long if they kitties get these and go to town chewing the heck out of the string. I have at least 10 of these around the house in various states of repair (and disrepair). For Christmas I got them 4 more to put in their kitty stockings. Late at night the little male cat will drag these up from the basement and I can hear him dragging them on the kitchen tile all the way to the bedroom. He will then arrange as many of them as he can find in various places from the doorway and around the bed (I assume because he wants to play at 3 AM.) I can not tell you how much joy these toys bring to my animals. The little guy just found his new Christmas presents this morning and before I could get across the room to stop him he drug one off the table and down the hall, still in the package. These are a MEGA hit in our house and I will continue to buy them as long as they are made.

EDIT: As of 1/26/16, I am retracting an additional star from my review, due to the fact that the 2 toys I received today have a thinner string than previous versions, even though no reduction in price is seen. My cat was already chewing through the string super quick, and other people had the same issue by the look of other reviews. Why would you take the one weak part of your toy and make it weaker? I am very disappointed.I have now encountered all three versions of this toy, because my cat freaking loves it but also loves to play rough, so she keeps breaking it. She's a huge fan of string and normally shreds through the elastic within 2 to 3 weeks if I'm lucky. The stuffed animal itself withstands the test of time, but overall I feel like the quality of the toy is poor. If my cat wasn't so horribly obsessed, I would probably look for alternatives.I don't recommend the duck toy. It's very dangerous for cats because the legs/feet are string, and if your cat swallows too much string it can cause intestinal issues. My cat even managed to pull out its eyes which are apparently made of string as well and almost swallowed that. If you do get the duck, don't let your cat play with it unmonitored, or cut off the legs prematurely to avoid the issue.The other toys seem fine. No excess string for my cat to pull off, and she likes to cuddle with them and fling them around after they break off of the string.

I received two of the rabbit type toys and gave them to my cats as Christmas presents. I have two 9 year old cats who are pretty hard to please with store-bought toys. One week later, they absolutely love this toy - one goes to the cabinet they are in (I only play with it while supervising them due to the hazard posed by the string) and chirps to play with it several times per day. She also chirps whenever I let it lay still for too long - she has never done either of these chirps with any other toy, and I take that to mean she really likes it! My younger cat who generally likes wand-type toys also loves this. I also like that unlike other inexpensive toys, it doesn't contain feathers, leather, and other cruel animal products. Definitely a great buy - would recommend and re-purchase.

My cat LOVES this toy. She goes crazy for it. I got the duck by the luck of the draw and she is always carrying it around. I have to put the toy away at bedtime or she’ll play with it all night. She knows which closet I keep the duck in and she’ll sit by the door in the morning just waiting for me to get it out. You can see how well loved this duck is in the second picture. Sophie plays pretty rough and I’m surprised by how long this toy has held up - considering it was less than $5. I went ahead and ordered a second toy to have on hand when this one breaks! My cat literally only want to play with this toy and ping pong balls. This toy is a good value and your kitty will love it.

My cats are spoiled. They have a huge basked of toys with over 70 items, but only favor a few. My tomcat ONLY likes the skinneeez toys. I don't know why, They get both dried catnip, fresh catnip and toys sprayed with catnip spray. However, my Tom absolutely ADORES these things. I think part of it is he likes the feel of it in his mouth, as opposed to traditionally stuffed toys. I love the fact that they are EXTREMELY durable. I have 2 Skinneeez mouse toys on an wand that I have had for 3 years yet neither the string toy nor wand has detached --- and my cats play hard. I thought it was finally time to replace the old ones with new. OMG, I couldn't remember the brand name. I searched and searched from store to store, but could not find them anywhere. Then I came to Amazon and searched and searched. Finally, VIOLA! I found them, but I could not buy any mice. I had to buy whatever animal they chose to send me. Well, as it turned out, my Tom was as crazy about the new animal (looks like a duck or platypus) as he was with the mice. He loved it so much, I think I got my money's worth on the very first night. There's a lot of toy wands out there, but so far, nothing compares to the Skinneeez (and no, I am not affiliated with the company in any way).

My cat typically doesn’t respond to catnip, but she is still OBSESSED with this toy! It’s easy to grab and bite into, but the bungee makes it easier to get it away from her to continue playing, whereas her last dangle toy would just stay still in her paws and she would get bored of it.The string and wand are both quite short, but it hasn’t been so much of an issue because of the bungee cord. The string came unattached from the stick the first time we played, but tying it back on in a more secure way has helped it last through many playdates!For the record, I bought this a little over a month ago at the time of this review. I received the rabbit version.

This little toy is probably the best I have come across - and I've bought a whole load of toys! It is a sturdy wooden stick with an elastic string and a (seemingly) indestructible catnip toy at the end. My cats are very fond of this brand of catnip and can't resist this toy. It has been chewed, pulled, chomped and is still in one piece and on the end of the string! The elastic does tend to 'go' after a while of being pulled, but my kitties still prefer this over any of their other toys :)

Don’t assume you get two of these as the add implies, you Only get one and not even the one picture. Emailed seller, never responded.Cat still loved it tho.

Excellent Product! My cat can’t get enough of this toy. Would easily recommend to anyone.However, language on the product listing does need amending, as I thought I was going to get two wands instead of one.

Compared to other catnip products, the squirrel is quite skinny and could be more stuffed. Also didn't realise I was buying only one - the image and pluralisation of title makes you think you are buying all three! The cats LOVED the one we got either way, but it has now snapped and become a standalone toy.

The boys enjoyed these, there is one left now that has endured, catnip ran out very quickly on one of them but hey they are small.
