Arcan ASC8013DLX Deluxe Service Cart

First the good. Nice looking, easy to put together, substantial build quality, good layout/functionality.The bad news. This thing is heavy. The shipping weight is 135 pounds and the corners of the main box are delicate because the frame pieces are not inserted yet as they will be when assembled. Once together the thing is very substantial. The cardboard for the shipping box is low grade and the foam protection is insufficient. Because of this, when the box is dropped or abused, the weak corners of the unassembled box get wacked and they get severely deformed. Those areas get so deformed that the paint chips and the thing cannot be assembled. I did not want to go through the "return and hope for the best on the new one" reship process so I got out some plastic hammers, wood blocks and protected pliers and went to work. It took me about 3 hours to get the box in good enough shape to start assembly and it still has cosmetic issues. Its good enough but it sucks when your brand new tool chest starts out looking dinged up with paint chipped off.It's a nice tool chest and should serve my purpose well but it's a shame that at this price point they don't package it better,

much better that expected. fairly easy to put together. just follow the directions. It is much stronger than expected and rolls easily and plenty of room on both sides to use as a work bench. Well please and a good price.

Seems to be a nice box. Mine did not come with instructions. The packaging was poor. Some corners are flimsy until assembled and they were not well enough protected. Corners were bent and paint was chipped. But did not want to go through the hassle of returning it. Especially since the shipping box and foam would not be able to be reused. But corners were able the straighten out just fine with a plastic hammer. Also would like to see the drawer handles installed.

normal sized tool cart, would be much better to get a mac tool or snapon cart for $150 ish with much better quality

Have been using this for a while now at the shop. It has loads of features you wont get with anything else in this price range.

I purchased this service cart as a Cristmas gift to myself. I was extremely impressed with the locking drawers. The ball bearing rollers on the drawers. The two side boxes, which normally come as an option on other more expensive units. I guess I was just blown away by all the great things this service cart included. Then, of course, there was the price. That in itself was a shocker. $243.43 at the time I made my purchase. I was so happy to see that. I even thought of buying two. Anyways, I ordered it and within a few days it was shipped. Now is where this review gets interesting. Amazon shipped it to me as described, as stated in the invoice, as promised. Somewhere in transit it was treated with total disrespect. Stickers on it stated it was Fragile and to handle it with care. This cart appeared to have been tossed from one end of a truck to the other. My carrier made notes of the condition of the packaging. I was so dissappointed but not at Amazon because I know a carrier would not pick up a package in as bad a shape as this one was. I decided to accept the order and open it up. It was in bad condition. I notified Amazon and immediately they offered to send me a new one. Even before I sent this back. That was comforting and it lifted the cloud which had settled over me since opening the box. A new cart was not available for immediate shipment. Amazon offered to make a full refund and order a pick up request. My service cart was damaged and no fault of Amazon. I opted to keep this cart and make repairs to the bent metal and all the other damage. Amazon then offered to refund me a portion of my costs as a goodwill jesture. I guess you know that Amazon will have me as a customer for life. What a great thing a company to do. To address the customer complaint , even though, it was no doing on their part. Thank you Amazon and thanks to the customer service tech who took my call and made my day...That day...
