Good quality tool
i used it to change springs and shocks on an old Toyota Camry, it was a little big for the job but it still worked well. the coolest part of thee compressors is that you can use your ratchet, or drill with ratchet bit, on these to compress the springs which makes things go much faster.

Definitely better than others in and above it price range
Honestly I didn't think these were going to hold up. Since I have tried other coil spring compressors but they just bend after so much stress. I'm glad to say I do not regret this buy at all. They have held up and are still as straight as the day I bought them.

Dangerous
I would not recommend these. The 2 finger design doesn't fit many springs. The metal on the fingers is to thin and bent, causing the spring to launch out. Luckily I was not injured. I bent the finger back, but I had a very difficult time changing the springs on my jeep with these. Look for something with more material at the fingers.

This Coil Spring Compressor is unsafe. It slipped on me a few times. It also will not compress the coil spring on a BMW 3 series enough to remove the coil from the spring (at least not on my E46 328i). A friend mentioned going to Auto Zone and was loaned a compressor tool for free. The brand was OEM and it was able to do the job safely. The OEM brand tool has safety pins for each attaching point to ensure it won't pop off inadvertently. I'm returning this tool.

Outch
This product did not work on my 2015 Dodge ran. The fingers need to be curved to meet the curve of the spring. The device popped off and hit my habd.

Works for Nissan Frontier Bilstein 5100's 2" w/ no problems.. UPDATE - DANGEROUS!!!!
UPDATE - I have dropped my review from five stars to two because this setup is DANGEROUS!!I had one clamp fly off the spring while working with them. Now I have one clamp stuck on the spring creating a "D" shape. FORTUNATELY I ordered a safer setup while these were in shipping.I'm giving this item 5 stars because it did what I hoped it would. I was putting together some Bilstein 5100's on the highest setting. I previously had the 25550 style compressors, but they were too bulky to remove from the coil assembly once finished. Not only that, but the threads turned to pretty much nothing when using an impact. I'm pretty sure they were not intended to be used with an impact, and I don't think these are either. BUT - these have held up fine! I used a generous amount of anti-sieze on the threads, and I'm sure wheel bearing grease would work just as well.Once I put the nut on the strut/shock, I backed off the compressors. It was nice to hear them drop out of the coil spring with no effort. That being said, that also makes using them a sketchy situation. I was only able to fit one hook per end on the spring, and they have no safety mechanism. If I was more careful, I would probably put a safety strap around the whole assembly next time. For less than $20 shipped, I feel I've gotten my money's worth if they crap out on the next job.

Five Stars
did just what I needed it to do. it was small enough to fit into smaller strut springs.
