What's especially nice about this book is that they have specific drills ...
Classic book, can't go wrong if you're a tennis enthusiast. What's especially nice about this book is that they have specific drills and patterns for every player type, so you don't necessarily need to read the entire book. You can easily home in on the section specific to your play style.

Excellent book
I have about 10 tennis books and this is the one that I grab every single training day to discuss the patterns and drills with my coach. If you really want to develop your game to a more efficient and consistent level, this book will help showing the patterns of play and the drills that cover them.

Bit more complex than my level of play
I do not know what I thought about this BOOK. Should have steady lessons with a Coach for it to be useful and perhaps if your playing at a College Level or have a seasoned person you hit with this book could work for you. For me the THINK to Win makes up for the information in this TENNIS TACTICS... I will keep it and should I become a 4.0 player and attain a steady COACH it may be useful. It would best be suited for a TENNIS PRO !!

Waste of Money. Waste of time.
This book is a as basic as "basic" can get. 228 Pages of nothing. Don't buy this unless you are a total neophyte. And if that is the case, it means that you will need to learn how to actually hit the ball before reading anything about "tactics."Examples:Pattern 15: "Hit a forcing shot crosscourt."Objective: "Hit an aggressive drive to attack a weakness and elicit a weak reply."Pattern 25: "Attack a short ball"Objective: "Keep your opponent deep until you get a short ball that you can attack."Each of these brilliant "tactics" is diagrammed! No kidding!Laughable. USTA=Lame

A must for any coach and player
A great book, as a coach I use it regularly for putting together my lesson plans. There are various drills covering the important situations you will find yourself in a match ranging from beginner to professional. However any professional drill can easily be simplified and applied to a player of a lesser standard. As a player, I would describe it as the equivilent of learning the openings of chess or another way is tennis by numbers. Knowing the drills throughly you will know where you put the ball without thinking about it and your opponents likely reply. I'm learning to improve my strategy and have experienced an improvement in my performence
