7 Months Later ~ UPDATE: It's fine
TL;DR: my unit stopped working with my two(2) computers after I fixed an unrelated issue with one of them, and I don't know why. you can use this with a GoPro, which is nice for video calls and the quality is good. I think it looks cool, and it's built well. But if you're looking for something more reliable, I would proceed with caution. ***EDIT***: I forgot to turn on an obscure setting hidden in the menus lmao. yeah, this is perfectly fineSo here we are, seven(7) months later, and my unit has stopped working after changing the motherboard on my computer. I was using this with a GoPro HERO5(Black) and it worked fine on my laptop and old motherboard, but like I just said, it's stopped working with the new mobo and my laptopNow, I don't know if this is any fault of my own. I've tried various different methods of setting up; different cables, plugging things in and starting programs in specific orders, checking if the GoPro is functioning properly and I have the right settings enabled. I have not been able to find any other causes for my issue. All that aside, this has been a very useful product and is well built. Basically, very good plug-and-play functionality, and fit well into my workflow/use case. The steel build, red bottom plate, and wavy top design were all very appealing to me. Although this provides more functionality for a lower price than say, an Elgat CamLink, I will be switching to the CamLink for reliability and warranty reasons. After doing a quick search online, I didn't see anything about the MiraBox coming with a warranty.I never used this for anything other than video calls, but I imagine this would be a good starting piece of equipment for someone who wants to start streaming.

Broke after 6 months, don't buy
After six months of using this to stream on twitch 5 days a week it broke. Video just stopped being transmitted, it didn't work in OBS, or any other software I tried. When I tried to contact their customer support about the warranty I never got a reply. The quality was pretty good while it worked but for $50 more you can get the Elgato equivalent. If you don't wanna waste money buy something else.

Pleasantly surprised by ease of use
I picked this up after researching different ways to use an older DSLR that has an HDMI output as a streaming device on my laptop. I'm shooting 720p and capturing on a laptop with USB 3.0 input, so I haven't explored any higher resolution or more advanced performance options. The device itself is compact and durable and comes with a keychain-like strap that made it convenient to hang from different mounts between the camera and laptop. The performance out of the box was exactly what I had hoped: An HDMI cable went from my DSLR to the card, a second HDMI out from the card went to a monitor to help with framing, and a USB-C cable out from the card went to my laptop. The streaming app I use recognized the card right away and performed well. It may take a little experimenting with different capture settings to find the optimal setup depending on the processing power of the machine actually recording the stream. There was a slight lag on my setup, this was especially noticeable if running processor-intensive programs at the same time, but for my use case this is a non-issue.I appreciated the device's plug-and-play ease of use, its portability, and the second HDMI out and microphone options for connecting other devices in one spot.

Not a polished and production quality product
After struggling 2+ weeks playing Mirabox, I finally call it a quit because of the following issues:(1) The only capturing software it supports (OBS) would frequently freeze and require unplugging / re-plugging the USB-C cable and restart the OBS to restore the video.(2) When playing back the captured file, the audio is noticeably out-of-sync with the video and make it look like lip-syncing.(3) HDMI pass-through only outputs audio without a video signal to the TV.Overall, I wasted a lot of time trying to get this device working and it simply didn't. I also bought a similarly priced Elgato HD60 S. So far, it seems to work perfectly with OBS without a hitch. Furthermore, Elgato connects to USB 3 instead of a much scarcer USB-C port as required by Mirabox, this is a definitely a plus if you use a laptop instead of desktop.

Very easy to plug and play right away!
Super easy to install, plug and play device. I use it to stream via obs software, the screen sometimes freezes but on OBS not on the screen I’m using the to play the game on. That’s a minor annoyance and easy to remedy but I also do not YET believe it’s fair to blame the capture card as it may be the obs software causing the malfunction.

A great video capture device.. when it works.
I bought this capture card because my old, $20 device finally gave out on me after a year or two. The setup was a little different, but the time it worked was amazing. I rarely used it before I started having problems with capturing my audio specifically. The audio is extremely distorted and delayed, and sometimes the video is low quality. It started making my games sound like there was something demonic inside my Nintendo Switch with how it captured background music in the games - only grasping dialogue. For the $60 price tag, the performance I got out of it is extremely disappointing. I rarely used it before it broke on me and rendered itself useless.

Best capture device I have found
I tried several different types to get to this one. Plug and play. very good picture, the only issue that I can tell is that it will not do HDR but the picture quality is not that noticeable if you have not been using HDR prior. Better than the elgato HD60s.

It works but with a big drawback
Works as a capture card, returning because it doesn't support YUY2 in OBS. Locked into mjpeg which exhibits severe color banding when connected to consoles.
