INTAKE KAI PERFORMANCE AIR INTAKE KIT FIT FOR 1995-1999 TOYOTA TACOMA 4RUNNER 2.7 2.7L l4 ENGINE (BLACK (WITH 3 BREATHER HOSES))

Although this product does not come with any literature, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to install correctly. I installed this product on a 1997 Toyota 4runner with 2.7l. Took about 10 minutes. Waiting on my next fill up to check for mileage improvement. I've noticed an increase in throttle response.

Intake pipe was too short, put the air filter hard against radiator hose so I had to cut up stock intake to make it work. Fittings for vacuum lines were also poorly executed. Had to weld them in as one was laying in the box when I received it. The hole was stripped out. Just glad I had a tig machine. This was installed on a 96 Tacoma with 2rz. Should be sold as a “universal” kit.

The hose nipple for air idle control (oem 5/8”) is tiny on this intake, you cannot use an adapter either because it won’t pull enough through and your cold start will leave you idling at 500rpm for 20-30 miserable seconds. Good thing I saved the stock intake, I cut it and pieced it together with this one. Also I removed the cruise control(broken anyways) and secured the MAF and filter to the spot where it was. Made my own thin bracket arms out of steel because the (1) aluminum one it comes with is not good….OVERALL I AM HAPPY WITH HOW IT IS NOW. But it was trial and error. and those cold starts sucked. I also didn’t like how it left the filter and MAF just dangling above the exhaust header and right up against my upper radiator hose.RUNS GOOD AND SOUNDS GOOD NOW THOUGHJust cut your OEM intake and remove your cruise control and you’ll be ok I guess. Very easy to install. Filter is a little small but works for this application. I didn't receive instructions in the package but it's pretty self explanatory. When installing bracket off the maf sensor bolt, you will have to loosely attach as well as attach the body mount on top of your ignitor module. I had to make custom bends and the material was pretty flimsy but it's not holding up anything very heavy. The hoses all fit perfectly. 1 sensor didn't have a spot to install, it's the air meter right before maf sensor, I will still hole in intake tube soon for proper operation but for now it's taped on rubber of filter. Pleasantly pleased with looks and quality and future purchases will be in order.

Don’t buy this intake. I tried installing it on a 2004 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 3rz and it did not work whatsoever. The actual intake tube hits the valve cover when it’s on and it’s made very cheaply. It can easily bend and deform from its original shape. This kit doesn’t come with an enclosed box or heat shield for the filter causing it to suck up all the hot engine compartment air and reducing performance. I recommend y’all to spend the money on a more quality kit like the ones Volant and K&N make.

Worked fine on my 2003 Tacoma 3rz four cyl. Looks to be better quality than the plastic k&n setup that costs $400 plus...sounds beefy
