Great for someone with dexterity issues
My son has Down Syndrome and has never had the dexterity to be able to tie his shoelaces. But he is very independent and would never ask for me to tie them for him. These laces give him the freedom to wear different styles of shoes without having to worry about tying the laces. They give him a measure of independence and dignity.

Not comfortable to wear
Has made my shoes easily coming on/off, but somehow it is now less comfortable then with usual laces. Strange pressure in different zones which I am unable to adjust.

best version of these things I've used
The cord lock on this set is reason enough to buy this brand. I've used others on several pairs of shoes and the Xpand cord lock really locks down tight. There is zero slippage.

Ehh
I don't like the latching mechanism. I should've gone with the pinch release style. I'll update this review if I change my mind.

Love the concept but they didn’t last
It took a little bit to get the laces adjusted to where they were comfortable but once they were right, it was great to be able to slip my shoes on quickly. They stayed exactly as I had positioned them, the anchor and cap holding everything really well…until one of the laces broke. It didn’t even last a month, and I was not wearing the shoes on a daily basis. I don’t know what caused the failure as I checked the eyelet of my shoe for a sharp spot and did not find one. The laces were not overly tight, and it broke where there was not a lot of tension on it, so for now I’ll give this product the benefit of the doubt and purchase another pair because of how much I like the concept and how it makes putting my shoes on so quick.

Simple and easy to use
I bought these for my Merrill trail gloves. I was worried the cord my be too thin, but it’s perfect. These are simple to install following their instructions. I love the fact that they’re easy to use on my shoes and I’m sure they’ll be perfect for air travel.

Round, Quick Release laces don't work like they say
I like that they're round, but that's it. They present that you can flip the lock "for casual wear", but that's not true. The "lock" part is stationary. Once it's in place it doesn't move or slide, yet it has a tendency to pop off if you tug on the laces too hard. Make sure you get the tension right the first time or you'll need a new pair. The lock is also upside down (IMHO). The grooves that lock in the laces are facing up, so it looks sloppy. It would look much better facing down. It's also difficult to get the two sides even so they look a bit lopsided. Overall I really dislike the design and look of these. Looking for alternatives.

Never tie your shoes again
I bought them because I have some mobility issues that can make tying my own shoes slower/ uncomfortable/ more difficult than I'd prefer. I usually keep my shoelaces loosely laced and double-knotted so I can just step into my shoes, but I wanted a better way.The video demo from the manufacturer's website effectively showed how to add them to shoes. After I paused and rewatched a couple of parts, it was pretty easy to put them on.I had to "install" them twice because I managed to pull one shoelace tip out of the "pull tab." That was annoying, but I fixed it after prying open the pull tab with a flat screwdriver.Because of my mobility issues, I found it easiest to remove my shoes and thread the laces first before adjusting them for fit and comfort while on my feet. If you have a lot of trouble bending or have significant arthritis in your hands, you might need someone to help you install or adjust these laces. The laces have some stretch, but I still find it helpful to use a telescoping shoehorn to put on my shoes.I can't speak to their durability yet, but I am pleased so far and will update if something changes.

Clip locks must click TWICE
The media could not be loaded. At first I thought they were defective end locks. Even after clicking closed they would reopen on their own instantly like in video provided. After wasting an hour trying I found out by trial and error it takes TWO CLICKS to close properly. If you have same issue use something like a spoon or fork to push hard enough and get it to click a second time on a table for example. Mine were impossible to close with two fingers like shown. No instructions provided, online video shows only one click. Crazy. One star deducted for wasting my time. Would have been 5 stars with actual double click instructions.Anyhow glad it worked. I was dreading a return which has become an absolute nightmare with Amazon purchases in Canada only allowing returns via Purolator. In a city of 5 million there are no local purolator offices only drop boxes providing no receipt for return shipment so if amazon decides to not honour a return or claims item is lost you have no proof like you used to with post office or upsFedEx . Imagine this on an expensive hi theft item like iPhones etc. Absolutely reprehensible what they are doing. Amazon clearly wants to stop returns even if it costs customers. Just a matter of time with a disaster setup like purolator.

Good alternative to regular old fashioned laces
I like these laces as they turn just about all shoes into slip ons while maintaining the look of lace up shoes. I have used them on hiking shoes casual shoes and even a pair of high cut style winter boots. I only give them four stars because the diameter of the lace is a bit thin. Would be nicer looking if they were thicker like the original laces they are replacing.

Wasn't exactly what I expected
It took a bit to get the shoe laces installed exactly right. I wish it was easier to adjust them. I had to take the shoes on and off until I got the laces set to the right fit. Once adjusted the laces stay put. I use a shoe horn to get my feet in my shoes and that works well.

Great for seniors
One of the many challenges of living longer is that it becomes very difficult to tie one’s shoelaces.I use slip-on shoes when possible, but many of my lace-up shoes are still serviceable, and some types of shoes and boots aren’t available in a slip-on style.Installing these elastic laces does take a bit of time and effort, but the results are well worth it!The modified shoes and boots are not quite like slip-ons, and so a good shoe-horn is essential to put them on. Still an order if magnitude easier than it used to be.Getting the correct tension is quite easy when setting up the laces. It’s also easy to remove modified shoes.Apart from the ease of putting on shoes now, the real advantage is that, unlike traditional laces which have no "give", these elastic laces are always flexible. When walking with the elastic laces snug, there is still some "give" so one’s feet are never limited by the tightness of laces. This is impressively comfortable. One’s feet are not constantly working against the fixed barrier of unyielding laces. The laces keep the shoes suitably snug while flexing with the natural movement of one’s feet. It’s a bit like walking without shoes while still enjoying the protection of them.

Only drawback is instructions
Product is as advertised with the only drawback being the instructions. Once that was solved the second shoe took only minutes.Liked them well enough to order two more pair.
