Hayden Automotive 2776 Premium Fan Clutch

I don’t know if I got a faulty one but my fan clutch doesn’t engage until my coolant temperature hits 230 degrees which that’s overheating for my car.

- The engine fan is roaring all the time. The fan is supposed to freewheel (and not exert drag on the engine) unless the air going over it is really hot.- The original unit is still under the hood, and the car/truck is >10 years old.- The fan can't be turned by hand, or is really hard to turn by hand - when the engine is stopped...This fan clutch is a drop in replacement for a 4.0L Ford explorer/ranger. A 36mm open end wrench of some kind is needed, as is a way to keep the water pump pulley from turning, like a long flat blade screwdriver or the "special tool" sold for this purpose.It helps to pull the fan shroud and the fan/clutch assy off at the same time. Assembling the new clutch with the fam shroud is the same. Try to pull them off separately, probably not going to work out very well.The Hayden unit works great. Roaring went away after 3 minutes run time. That's exactly what the truck did new.

This thing is hit or miss. The first one I purchased would lockup at all operating temperatures after only a few hundred miles of drive time. I warrantied it and the second one has been working fine for the past 3 months.

i don't like how noisy it is

Save some money and buy this. Works great.

Works so far and fixed the roaring engine sound.

Purchased for my 2002 Sport Trac, was the correct fit but makes a loud noise when you accelerate. Should have listened to the reviews. It gets irrating after awhile so I had to take it off and put on an OEM.

Works great but expect some noise for a few moments after start up it is fine afterwards.
