Sierra's 18-5196 Ignition Coil is designed for use with Johnson/Evinrude 9.9 HP (1974-1976), 15 HP (1974-1976), and 40 HP (1976) outboard engines. Includes one ignition coil per package. It is interchangeable with Mallory 9-23101, GLM 72020, and Johnson/Evinrude Outboard 0502880 and 0581407. Each Sierra product meets or exceeds the original equipment part it replaces. Fit specific, check part numbers to ensure proper fit.

Terrible quality.
Dont qaster your money on Sierra international. This coil arcs through the spark plug wire and causes misfires. It didnt take any time at all for that to start. Sending this back to get an OMC part like I should have in the first place. I also bought a driver coil for the mag plate from sierra int. Once i opened it, the possite wire fell off in my hands. Terrible quality for hard ignition parts.

Better quality control needed
Wire on one coil barely inserted into place. Second coil works ok. Would recommend better quality control from this company.
